SHEWMAKE'S REVENGE

I am struggling to comprehend what motivated a state senator to risk her reputation and job as a professor at WWU by committing one of the most unethical acts I've observed in the state legislature in my lifetime. The only thing I can recall is when I rebuked Senator Shewmake for interfering in the 2025 Blaine City Council election by endorsing Jiggy Sorrell--a Trump supporter--over Eric Lewis, a Whatcom Democrat.

Lewis proposed adoption of a Blaine code of ethics in the aftermath of self-dealing by Blaine Councilman Mike Hill. Evidently in Shewmake's mind, it is of utmost importance to protect crooked Republicans rather than allow open government activists to hold Shewmake's friend Blaine Mayor Mary Lou Steward accountable for running a criminal enterprise at city hall. Steward attacked Councilman Lewis and supported the death threats against open government activists by convicted felon, David Brudvik.

Shewmake is known by the company she keeps.

HARMON'S WHORES AT THE NORTHERN LIGHT

In Kari Mar's ongoing coverup of criminal misconduct by Blaine officials, Northern Light reporters characterize the October 13, 2025 death threats by convicted violent felon David Brudvik against open government activists --in retaliation for our exposing municipal corruption--as conduct "that some residents perceived as threatening."
