Intervention by County Demanded

5/14/25 letter to county executive:

The construction of an unlawfully approved mobile home park in the illegally rezoned Critical Aquifer Recharge Area in the City of Blaine is beginning, and Whatcom County must intervene immediately to protect public health and the viability of our community. Your neglect to uphold the law in Blaine 2022-2025 forced Blaine Water Coalition members to devote thousands of hours doing your job. 

We have submitted voluminous documentation of criminal misconduct by Blaine Community Development Services director Alex Wenger and Blaine City Manager Mike Harmon in facilitating this residential development, undertaken without meeting the statutory requirements of the Growth Management Act, State Environmental Policy Act, or the Clean Water Act. Your ongoing failure to protect the citizens of Blaine makes Whatcom County culpable in violating our civil rights.

Letter to County Prosecutor

To Mr. Eric J. Richey, Whatcom Prosecuting Attorney, 311 Grand, Ste. 201, Bellingham WA 98225 I write to you as Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney in hope you will protect the rights of the people of Blaine from a city government that--due to embedded corruption--is unable to effectively govern and is putting our health and prosperity at risk by their unlawful acts. 1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him. This self-dealing is against the law.
