TOADIES UNDER SCRUTINY

June 14 letter to Blaine City Council:

For those of you who are new to public office, and might not have attended an Association of Washington Cities orientation for new public officials, there is one takeaway that stands above all others. That takeaway is that you never vote to line your own pockets, as former Councilman Mike Hill, former Planning Commissioner Sam Randhawa, and current Councilwoman Sarbjit Bains have done. Called 'self-inurement' under state law, it is commonly known as "self-dealing." Blaine City Attorney Ruffato warned against this misconduct by public officials in his ethics primer to Blaine City Council on February 10, 2025.

The fact that the county prosecutor is too dishonest or lazy to enforce the law does not provide you protection from state or federal prosecution, nor from civil rights lawsuits. The September 8, 2025 code of ethics meltdown by Mayor Steward--intended to influence the 2025 city council election--led directly to the October 13, 2025 death threats by David Brudvik, a convicted violent felon, whom Mayor Steward supported on his Facebook death threat video that Whatcom District Court ruled a threat to murder us for exercising our civic duties opposing municipal corruption. Your plans to consolidate power as toadies of the real estate industry will collapse under the coming public scrutiny.
