January 15, 2024 Pentland report to the City of Blaine reveals self-dealing in the Central Business District by Downtown Advisory Committee member Gurdeep Bains.

June 10, 2024 Downtown developer and Councilman Mike Hill fails to recuse himself on the vote by city council to reduce parking requirements for developers in the Central Business District.

November 12, 2024 Councilman Mike Hill accosted open government activist Otto Pointer for revealing the downtown toxic waste site under Hill's Chevron.

September 24, 2025 Washington Coalition for Open Government secretary George Erb op-ed Open government is an antidote to mistrust published in The Northern Light.

October 13, 2025 David Brudvik, a supporter of Mayor Steward, issues death threats against four open government activists for opposing State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) fraud.

October 21, 2025 Blaine Chief of Police sends BPD officers to the homes of open government activists to intimidate them.

November 4, 2025 Whatcom District Court Judge Angela Anderson issues civil protection orders for four open government activists, and surrender of two dozen firearms by Brudvik to the county sheriff.

November 8, 2025 Ferndale Police Officer Richard Hart releases defamatory report against four open government activists for Blaine Chief of Police Rodger Funk via Ferndale PD Chief Matt Huffman.

December 5, 2025 Judge Anderson overrules Whatcom County Prosecutor and Chief Funk's testimony, rejecting Brudvik's motion for reconsideration.

January 2026 Four open government activists file complaints against BPD and FPD officers with the Washington Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC).

March 6, 2026 CJTC opens investigation of Blaine and Ferndale police officers.

March 9, 2026 Blaine City Councilwoman Sarbjit Bains commits self-dealing by her vote to suspend the Blaine Municipal Code for Central Business District developers, including herself and her husband.

March 23, 2026 Blaine City Council usurps CJTC authority by supporting police misconduct and accusing the citizen whistleblowers of being disruptive. 

April 16, 2026 Blaine Planning Commission recommends approval of Title 17 amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that would put all power over environmental decisions into the hands of the Blaine planning director, and would impose a $5,000 fee to challenge his edicts.
