HARMON'S DREAM TEAM
January 27 letter to Blaine City Council:
Blaine City Manager Mike Harmon is widely considered the actual source of the so-called "anonymous letter" he produced, that Mayor Steward relied on to demonize open government activists holding her, Councilman Hill, and Harmon accountable. As such, Harmon is likely the instigator of the Brudvik-Hill incident at Blaine City Hall on October 13, 2025, when convicted violent felon David Brudvik threatened to murder four of the open government activists, including me, while former councilman Mike Hill led a lynch mob standing ovation.
Former Blaine City Councilman Mike Hill, owner of Chevron, Starbuck's, Blaine Visitors Center, and Bordertown Mexican Grill, has a record for assault and battery. Brudvik spent 30 months in prison for two drive-by shootings. As a city councilman, Hill committed two acts of criminal self-dealing by voting to increase the value of his commercial properties in the Central Business District. On October 21, 2025, Hill unlawfully banned us from his tenants stores.
Harmon--who has repeatedly defamed the open government activists for filing formal complaints with state and federal agencies (see attached) against the city for perjury, self-dealing and fraud--also interfered with the 2025 election, when he attempted to have downtown developer Gurdeep Bains' wife Sarbie appointed to Blaine City Council without allowing any other applicants.
Harmon justified his electoral interference by saying, "Mike Hill endorses her!" As a member of the infamous downtown advisory committee in 2023, Gurdeep Bains--mirroring Hill's crimes--voted twice to increase the value of his commercial properties in the Central Business District. In 2025, Bains' investment property on Drayton Harbor was the subject of a complaint for illegal destruction of eagle perch trees on the shoreline.
Hill and Blaine Police Chief Rodger Funk ended up eating crow when Starbuck's lawyers contacted Funk, asking him what the heck he thinks he's doing interfering with their business and customers. Funk then had to phone us rescinding the no trespass orders he had sent with police officers to our homes. We filed complaints with the criminal justice commission against Funk for violating our equal protection rights, putting our lives in danger by his November 4, 2025 Whatcom District Court testimony in support of Brudvik.
