Reparative Justice

6/4/25 letter to city and county:

While it is outside the imagination or intention of the present government of the City of Blaine to redress historical and ongoing harms to Lummi Nation--the original inhabitants of Semiahmoo Spit--it is not something Blaine citizens should continue to tolerate. Reparative justice for the destruction of their village at Tongue Point by Alaska Packers and the present pollution of Cain Creek and Dakota Creek due to embedded criminality at Blaine City Hall calls out for a community-led response to make amends. The unlawful destruction of Semiahmoo Spit by Blaine Community Development Services to enable luxury housing on their ancient village site is an insult to the Lummi people.

To Mr. Eric J. 1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him.
