If we want to continue eating Drayton Harbor oysters, we better get serious about pollution cleanup in our city. The pollution from the clearcutting over the city aquifer by Skip Jansen for his mobile home development that drains to Drayton Harbor and from Hill's Chevron groundwater contamination that also drains to Drayton Harbor is exacerbating pollution from the city garbage dump under Marine Park.

The Marine Park Shoreline Reconstruction and Naturalization Pilot Project addressed a portion of the remediation needed to prevent ongoing toxic pollution of Drayton Harbor and Semiahmoo Bay. The January 2011 Marine Park Shoreline Restoration Feasibility report to the City of Blaine from Element Solutions notes that restoration partners would need to include Lummi Nation, the Nooksack Tribe, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him.
