Countywide Planning Policies

6/5/25 letter to city and county:

The June 12, 2025 Blaine Planning Commission meeting agenda includes a countywide planning policies update and comprehensive plan update from Blaine Community Development Services. As planning commissioners, you have the responsibility to review city staff planning proposals for consistency with county and state standards as required under the Washington State Growth Management Act. At present, the City of Blaine is out of compliance.

Rather than exercising your duties to uphold the law, you have unfortunately by design become accomplices in breaking the law on behalf of crooked developers and realtors. Blaine Planning Commissioner Kevin Owens led the way on corruption in the Central Business District planning fiasco, and Commissioner Sam Randhawa recently voted to line his own pockets by rezoning property for a client at Freeman Real Estate where he works.

Commissioner Enos on social media expressed his disregard for public participation in the form of oral public comment at city council meetings. Commission Chair Calvin Armerding treats the public with contempt.

Letter to County Prosecutor

To Mr. Eric J. 1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him.
