Mismanagement Leading to Ruin

5/6/25 letter to Whatcom County:

When Shirley Van Zanten was Whatcom County Executive (1990s), Whatcom County Planning won a state award for excellence in recognition of an exemplary public education and participation process. This process included numerous two-hour educational workshops around the county with wall maps and experts on hand to answer questions. Facilitated public discussions where everyone had a chance to be heard and become involved were key to this award.

Contrast that with the behavior of Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu today--where the public is largely excluded--and you can see why Growth Management planning and water resource planning under his mismanagement will lead to ruin. Indeed, it already is in Blaine.

To Mr. Eric J. 1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him. This self-dealing is against the law.
