Increased Utility Bills

5/5/25 letter to Whatcom County:

Thursday, Blaine Planning Commission will discuss the proposed new Urban Growth Area on Semiahmoo peninsula that the public has had no say in, that the City of Blaine is pushing without a legally-required Environmental Impact Statement, and without demonstrating the city has the capacity to provide adequate water and sewer for another one thousand homes. One thing an EIS would look at is the cost to current residents in the form of "significantly increased utility bills" to upgrade the water and sewer system for two million dollar second homes.

Whatcom County Executive Satpal Sidhu's reply: "Stopping progress create stagnation and decline in communities.

We rather discuss ways to rejuvenate communities! Especially when needs of our next generations are much different than the  past generations."

My response to Sidhu: "Your mischaracterization of criminal misconduct by Blaine public officials as "progress" illustrates your ignorance and lack of integrity. We cannot rejuvenate our community when due to your neglect to enforce the rule of law, public accountability has been obliterated by the City of Blaine. I have never seen such incompetence in a county executive."
