Castles Made of Sand

5/8/25 letter to city and county:

Alex Wenger's dream of destroying Blaine's environment for profit is washing away with the tide of truth; 1. You cannot prosper by polluting the city aquifer, 2. You cannot prosper by ignoring toxic waste downtown, 3. You cannot prosper by destroying the Dakota Creek-Drayton Harbor estuary for $1.5 million condominiums.

No amount of spin by the crooked developers' friend The Northern Light newspaper can make the City of Blaine's criminality go away. We have social media and Cascadia Daily News and evidence of your three-year crime spree in violation of the Growth Management Act and Clean Water Act in the public record.

The East Blaine castles made of sand are now joined by Wenger's dead-on-arrival plan to vastly increase City of Blaine utility bills in order to build 1,000 new castles on the Semiahmoo peninsula that would require significant and expensive upgrades to the city water and sewer system, including expanding inadequate treatment plants.

These upgrades benefit the developers of $2 million dollar second homes, but will bankrupt the city and its taxpayers while polluting Drayton Harbor. You would know this if Community Development Services director Alex Wenger followed the law by doing an Environmental Impact Statement, which he did not.

Now, after three years building castles made of sand, all of Wenger's unlawful schemes are washing away.
