Truth and Consequences

2/11/25 letter to City of Blaine:

Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of Mayor Steward and council member Mike Hill's ambush of Donna Newman during the oral public comment period at Blaine City Council. Ms. Newman and other Blaine citizens were outraged by the official corruption perpetrated by Mayor Steward, Community Development Services director Alex Wenger, Blaine City Manager Mike Harmon, and Blaine City Council member Mike Hill in unlawfully changing the zoning above the city drinking water aquifer for Hill's friend Skip Jansen, a developer from Lynden. 

City of Blaine officials, with eager assistance from The Northern Light, portrayed the outraged citizens as an unruly mob threatening the mayor. What this admittedly unruly behavior of citizens shouting back at the mayor after she started shouting at Ms. Newman indicates is that when city officials conspire to violate environmental protection laws in order to line their own pockets and those of their friends is that telling the truth has consequences. 

Tomorrow, take a moment to reflect on the importance of the rule of law and how Blaine officials have intentionally undermined that, as well as the consequences for Mayor Steward et al as Blaine citizens now begin to hold them accountable under the law for their sordid misdeeds. Threatening public health and safety as she systematically violates one environmental law after another on behalf of greedy, dishonest developers, Mayor Steward resembles our new president.

Letter to County Prosecutor

To Mr. Eric J. 1/30/25 letter to City of Blaine : BLAINE'S SHAME CCTV of Blaine City Council member Mike Hill accosting community activist Otto Pointer at the November 13, 2024, council meeting. Mike Hill, owner of Starbuck's and Chevron, as well as a downtown and CARA developer, has not recused himself when voting on zoning amendments to the Blaine Municipal Code that financially benefit him.
